Monday--Friday, July 18-22
9 a.m. to 12 noon.
*longer on Friday until 1:30 p.m. for the closing and picnic

For children going into 2016/17 grades preK-5, with middle school and high school youth volunteers and adult volunteers!

This summer, children in grades preschool through 5th grade are invited to explore the world and discover God at work in the lives of real people in a different corner of the world each day of VBS week.

The children will enjoy:
hearing the bible adventures of Jesus Christ and
experience in song, games, snacks, crafts, and activities the Faith lived out in a different culture.

In this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the children will cross cultures and encounter Christ in all nations, for "God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life (John 3:16)."

The adventure begins in Vacation Bible School for children entering 2016/17 grades preschool through 5th grade on Monday through Friday, July 18--22 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Parents, please plan on joining your children on Friday, July 22 at 12 noon. We'll end with a closing program in church, followed by a grand picnic on the lawn of church until about 2 p.m. We’ll have plenty of surprises, give aways, and just good faith-filled fun all week long!

Adult Volunteers, please sign up here!

Many hands are needed to help with Vacation Bible School and High School, Middle School, and Adult volunteers are very much appreciated. Volunteers are needed as Group leaders and Aides, and in Crafts, Recreation & Games, Kitchen (snacks), and Nursery (for children of VBS volunteers).

Especially needed are singers and musicians to join the VBS band that leads the music for Sunday 10:30 a.m. Mass on July 17, opens each day of VBS, enriches the children's VBS morning with music sessions, and leads the praise and worship in the closing program on Friday of VBS week. For more information on the VBS band, please contact Kelly Hernandez at khernandez@stfrancisa2.org or call 734-821-2122.

In this Jubilee Year Vacation Bible School, we are also looking for volunteers who come from other countries to give hands-on presentations (show and tell) of their cultures. Volunteers present for one morning of VBS week. If you can help, please contact Ellen Ward at ward@stfrancisa2.org or call 734-821-2130

Thank you to the volunteers, families, and children who were a part of Vacation Bible School 2015!

Thank you to the volunteers, children, and families who were a part of Vacation Bible School this summer!  This year’s theme was “Faith and Science" and introduced the child to the marvels of life in God's creation. We touched on the how and the why of life and how that why has an answer in Jesus Christ, for "Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them (Psalm 111:2)."

Our stats include 250 children in grades PreK-5; 15 infants and toddlers in the nursery; 82 middle school youth, 63 High School youth;  and 70 young adult and adult volunteers.

A special thanks to Kelly Hernandez, Brooke Boyle, Brooks Bradley and the youth making up the VBS band for the week!

A grand thank you to Michael Cassar, our seminarian, Fr. Tom, Dcn. Rich Badics, Bill Kangas, Jr. and the leadership team for their insightful talks, prayers, and blessings for the children.

Thank you to our presenters, Ted Emch, Michael Cherney, Dr. Kathleen Ignatoski, Dr. Richard Auchus, and Jason Carleski for their excellent science demonstrations.

Thank you to Scott Campbell for grilling 720 hotdogs for the closing picnic!

Thank you to the volunteers who prepared snack, aided in recreation, led crafts, guided and taught the children our faith, or cared for the little ones in the nursery!

You are very much appreciated!  God bless you—Ellen Ward
