Protecting God’s Children Training
As part of the response the Bishops have taken to prevent child sexual abuse, all volunteers who work with children are required to participate in an informational training session, known as “Protecting God’s Children” that discusses the issue of sexual child abuse and its prevention. 

How to Register?
To register for an upcoming live training session please visit the Virtus website.  If you need assistance in registering please contact stfreled [at] stfrancisa2 [dot] org (Courtney Aymen), secretary at 734-821-2130. When you arrive at the workshop please be sure to sign-in. The Diocese of Lansing is required to keep records on attendance for the diocese’s annual audit. At the end of the training, you will receive a certificate of completion. Please turn in a copy of this certificate to the Religious Education Office. 

Are you Volunteering and are unable to attend a live training session?
It is preferably to attend a live training session, however if you are planning to volunteer and unable to attend a live training or a live training session is not available, you may sign up and take the on-line training.  Follow the instructions given by clicking here and contact the RE office with your certificate of completion.

Volunteer Background Checks, Code of Conduct, and Other Forms
Forms to complete the required background checks, central registry clearance, and technology forms are found on our website under Forms & Resources.  The Volunteer Code of Conduct is now on-line and is signed electronically as part of the process in registering for a Virtus Live Training session.

Please submit paper forms to the RE office.  Please contact the RE office for questions and after completion at stfreled [at] stfrancisa2 [dot] org or 734-821-2130.
