Cub Scouts
A Cub Scout is a member of the section of the worldwide Scouting movement for young persons, mainly boys normally aged about 7 to 11. The Cub Scouting movement was founded by Robert Baden-Powell in 1916, for the many younger boys who had not yet reached the age limit for the Boy Scouts but who wanted to take part in Scouting. Boy Scout Troop 27
Boy Scouts of America, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Meetings are held at St. Francis School on Mondays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the St. Francis Gym, September through June. Girl Scouts
The Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) is a youth organization for girls in the United States and American girls living abroad. It describes itself as "the world's preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls" and was founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912. GSUSA aims to empower girls and to help teach values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood, confidence, and citizenship through activities including camping, community service, learning first aid, and earning badges by acquiring other practical skills. Venturing is part of the program of the Boy Scouts of America for young adults, men, and women, from the age of 14 through 21. Its purpose is to provide positive experiences to help youth mature and to prepare them to become responsible adults.
