Our Philosophy and Goals for having a relationship with a Sister Parish
We seek to nurture a mutual exchange of ideas and hopes, partnering, and sharing our Catholic faith with members of other parishes. We hope to foster a cooperative relationship between the parishes that focuses on sharing our gifts with one another.

In 2015 our St. Francis sister parish relationship began with S.S. Peter & Paul Church = Iglesia San Pedro y San Pablo in Toledo, Ohio.

Corpus Christi Catholic Parish

July 1, 2006, St. Gerard and Immaculate Heart of Mary merged creating a new Parish named Corpus Christi. Now Corpus Christi Catholic Parish has 700 members including two charter schools, a medical clinic, a housing project corporation, a youth activity corporation with two summer programs, and two summer bible studies. St. Paul the Apostle Church

The first response to our outreach efforts to New Orleans came from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. They had a church with urgent needs. This led to Sister Parish relationship. Pastor, Father Bernard of St. Paul the Apostle was is very enthused about the idea.

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church was established in 1947 as the first Catholic church in Eastern New Orleans.Pre-hurricane Katrina, August 2005, St. Paul Parish was had 700 families and a school: pre-K to 7th with 200 students.
